Die Apokalyptischen Reiter in Studio 24
When metal bands come to Scotland it tends to be at a venue in Glasgow so when it was announced that Die Apokalyptischen Reiter were playing in Edinburgh I was quite surprised. Studio 24 turned out to be a great venue, and although the turnout could have been better it was a thoroughly enjoyable gig. Die Apokalyptischen Reiter played a mixture of new and old songs which seemed to please everyone. It was their stage performance and presence that really made their show what it was. Playing with the energy and enthusiasm that would have made you think they were playing to thousands and not the mere 60-80 that turned out in Edinburgh each song was as energetic as the last. Sound in the venue was also pretty good and the inclusion of a interlude of percussion really went well with their set.Personal highlights for me included Friede Sei Mit Dir, Seemann and Es Wird Schlimmer. Next time Studio 24 have a great band playing I will have no hesitation in making the trip across to Edinburgh.
